Doctor Stylianos Kontos was born in Athens on December 3, 1976.
He studied at the Medical School of Thessaloniki Greece and graduated in 2002. He trained in in one of the largest hospitals of Athens at Piraeus General Hospital and completed his specialty of Urology in 2011.
At the same year he received his European Qualifiqation of Urology, after written and oral exams (Fellow of European Board of Urology).
Also in 2011 he completed his doctoral thesis on modern diagnostic and treatment techniques of bladder cancer, which lasted six years, and proclaimed Doctor of University of the Medical School of Patras Greece.
Member of the Endo-Urological Society since 2006 continues its training in the University Hospital of Glasgow-Scotland-UK from 2012 to 2015, where he specialized in laparoscopic surgery of the upper urinary tract (tumors kidney with over 40 interventions) and in urinary stones with minimally invasive techniques, and he was among the first to apply the technique of percutaneous nephrolitholapaxy, dealing with large stones of kidney without skin incision. During his training he received extensive experience in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia with modern techniques for treating such TURis and Green light laser.
Dr. Kontos is an honorary member of the Royal College of Surgeons Urologists UK and he is committed to lifelong learning and teaching. He is an examiner on the FRCS (Urol) revision course, helping to prepare the consultant urologists of tomorrow. He is also involved in national training courses in laparoscopic and stone minimal invasive surgery. Since February 2015 he created his own Urology Clinic, with the most advanced diagnostic equipment in order patients will have the most professional consultations and treatments.
